We hadn’t planned to stop for the night, but this place turned out to be a welcome find. Everything in the room was clean and worked as it should, and it was just right for us. Breakfast was filling and really good. I’d definitely recommend this hotel.

The hallway and entrance had an odd smell, like something spoiled or wet carpet. At the front desk, staff weren’t especially friendly, though that may have been because they were working on Christmas Eve. The Christmas morning staff were polite, but there weren’t many of them because the hotel was short staffed.

We had no water for our entire stay: no toilets, showers or drinking water. I asked for a refund and was denied. I didn’t know a room without water was included in the price. Terrible customer service. After the owners responded, thank you for showing how to write something that sounds thoughtful while avoiding responsibility. Guests were left without water for toilets, showers or drinking, then refused a refund. Instead of acknowledging how unacceptable that is at any hotel, the response just repeated that “policies were followed.” If the policy is to charge full price for a room without water, then it worked exactly as intended.

The bathroom smelled, and the hot tub was actually a cool tub, colder than the pool. When I touched the water, the front desk clerk said both were normal and okay, then called me a liar. The manager was even less helpful on the phone and accused me of threatening the clerk, though I never did. They threatened to call the police and wouldn’t check me out when I decided to leave after two hours. I went next door and had an exceptional experience. Stay next door, not here.
