Baymont by Wyndham Yakima Riverfront

One thing to know: there's a 10 p.m. curfew. The door keys are turned off then, and after leaving through the side doors you can't get back in there, so you have to go around to the front office. I had dogs with me, but the reservation notes from Priceline hadn't reached the hotel. I apologized and explained, and the manager, who was at the counter, got irritated and said I should have told her sooner because she now had to change my room to a pet room. We got it sorted, though staying with dogs has never been a problem for me at other hotels. When I first arrived late Thursday night after traffic, exhausted, she was already agitated and short with me while we went over the reservation. I made a few trips back and forth with my things, and the manager and a man watched me go by each time. On my last trip, he mentioned that there was a luggage trolley around the corner. I hadn't been there before, and it would've helped to know sooner. I left feeling awful, and both he and the manager were unhelpful. I was looking forward to staying at Baymont by Wyndham Yakima Riverfront on 4/23-4/26 after staying at the Oxford next door last year and expecting similar service. I was wrong. I'll spend the extra money at the Oxford to avoid being treated that way.

The staff are wonderful, the bed was comfortable, and the shower had good pressure. I enjoyed the river view and balcony, where the sun never hits directly, making it pleasant to sit outside. The walking path was really convenient, and I slept with the slider open for fresh air without the freeway noise being an issue. Breakfast was the usual mid-range hotel spread, good enough for a free meal. The elevators move eerily slowly, but the Mexican restaurant next door is awesome.

I spent a few weeks here and had a wonderful stay. The river walk is beautiful, and I walked there every day, seeing ducks, herons, and eagles. The hotel is well located near town, with Walmart and Target across the street, and there's an excellent Mexican restaurant next door with a great happy hour. My room was spotless, one of the cleanest hotels I've stayed in. You can tell the housekeepers work hard. Everyone at the front desk and in housekeeping was so friendly. The guest laundry room is nice and big, with clean washers for only $2. Thank you all so much. I wish I could remember everyone's names, my bad. I hope to come back!

Everything was within driving distance, with Walmart just a few minutes away on foot and a Mexican restaurant right beside the hotel. Our suite was roomy, with two queen beds, and everything was nice and clean. We loved sitting outside in the chairs and listening to the river. Just an awesome stay.
