Days Inn by Wyndham Yanceyville

The room was quiet, comfortable, clean, and didn't have any odd smell. Everyone I spoke with at the front desk was friendly and easy to talk to. Sure, the place is dated and the wallpaper could use some care, but calling it a dump is way off. People who are upset about not getting a fancy flat screen TV need to get a life. Go to Danville VA if you want to see a dump.

The dresser in the bedroom came apart at the bottom and landed on my foot. I also couldn't get the TVs to work, and found that the electrical outlets were loose and had adapters in them. The curtains facing outside wouldn't shut properly, with a thumb tack apparently left by the previous tenant to try to hold one closed. The refrigerator and dish drainer still had food, there was hair on the vanity and in the tub, and the toilet was so dirty I had to clean it before using it. This was an awful room. I asked the front desk man for a refund, and he said he'd talk to his manager, but my card was charged in full today. I'm calling the City inspectors because I can't see how the place has legal permits or should be open.

A lot of the reviews I saw about this motel were negative, but my dad and I had a good stay last weekend before the race at Martinsville. The beds were comfortable and clean, the room smelled nice, and the TV worked. The bathroom was also clean. Even pricey hotels can have dirty tubs, but this one was spotless. We got great service and were very pleased, so I'd say give it a chance.

Don't stay here. The room smelled, the carpet had stains, the wallpaper was peeling, and the blankets had cigarette burns. I couldn't take a bath because the faucet didn't work. The website shows a nice pool, but in person it was drained and rusty. This place was a waste of money and should close.
