I was pleasantly surprised by the continental breakfast. It was my first at any of the four or five hotels I’ve stayed in, and they did a good job with it. The snow outside made it extra cozy, and the other guests I ran into were pleasant. There were plenty of rooms, the accommodations were clean, and the indoor/outdoor pool was there, although out of commission. I’d recommend it. I thought it was a nice place, though I wish it had been a little closer to my HQ. That’s not really the hotel’s fault. The staff could have been more personable, but maybe they’re just not very warm people. I can accept that, though a little charisma goes a long way in this kind of work, since people remember a lot about an experience.

The room was clean, but the bathroom was about the size of a broom closet. I can’t wait to get home and take a shower. The hot tub is crumbling inside, so you’re constantly stepping on concrete. The grounds were littered with Miller High Life 40oz bottles and soda bottles filled with urine, and no one cleaned them up. On our first night, a broken deadbolt jammed in the striker and trapped us in the room. Luckily we were on the ground floor. There was no maintenance staff, so I got the door open with plastic knives. The breakfast was awful: frozen egg pucks, a waffle machine, small old bagels and cold cereal. We’d asked when booking whether they had bacon or sausage like other places on the strip and were told yes. Worse, kids ran up and down the hallways until after midnight while their parents hid in the dining area playing games, right in plain view of the front desk. The hallway smelled of weed. The place is old and run down. Like others who reviewed it, I expect the standard blanket apology, but apparently nothing ever gets fixed. If you want a hotel close to everything and are willing to sacrifice quality, this is the place.

For $240 a night, this was nowhere near worth it. At best, the hotel feels like it belongs in the $80 a night range. I might come back for a very cheap price, but what we paid for was disappointing. The pool and hot tub were fantastic, even though they looked a little old and run down. They were the highlight, and the location was great. The room itself felt neglected: it had a musty, odd smell, and there were visible fingerprints on the desks and other surfaces. When we asked the front desk for extra pillows, with only three for two people, and more towels, the staff were rude. Breakfast was another letdown. The only options were frozen breakfast sandwiches, worse than Jimmy Dean, which I actually like. The breakfast room was so crowded that I waited 20 minutes to try to get a waffle and never got one.

I was there this weekend for my daughter’s soccer tournament, and the whole stay was a disaster. The beds felt like rock, so my daughter and I ended up sleeping on the grass by the outdoor pool. There was a cockroach in the bathtub, stained lampshades, and tortillas on the roof. Kids were peeing in the pool and running through the hallways while I was in my jammies. No Welch’s in the vending machine either. The bathrooms were tiny and had no conditioner, the breakfast was awful, and the staff weren’t sociable. NEVER COME HERE!!!! SAVE YOURSELF!!!!

The manager was kind enough to give us a refund, so we left immediately. The staff had been nice and helpful, but the room was awful. There were holes in the wall beside the bed, in the bathroom above where you shower, with mold around them, and by the sliding door. The carpet was sticky and smelled bad. My feet were black after walking from the bed to the bathroom. Absolutely disgusting. The grounds were pretty, but the room was nothing like the pictures online.
