Hampton Inn Yazoo City

I went to Yazoo City to visit an inmate and this place was right down the road. The renovation is real, not just a new front desk. My room was bigger than my apartment, with a huge king bed, a nice TV, fridge, microwave, and good A/C. The shower was amazing, with strong pressure and plenty of really hot water. I didn’t want to leave.

This was my first trip to Mississippi, to visit my loved one at a federal facility. The hotel was literally down the road, and its location was perfect. Walmart is right next door, and there are lots of fast food places on the street. Ja’De was welcoming, professional, and pleasant every time I needed help. I really appreciated her service. The room was big and wonderful, and I enjoyed my stay. Breakfast was okay. They’re renovating, so the hotel may look even better when the work is done. A heads-up for anyone staying here: there’s an active train track in front, and I heard trains the whole time. I like train sounds, so it didn’t bother me. The A/C and heating system and the fridge make some noise too, but that didn’t bother me either. I’ll definitely come back when I visit Yazoo City again.

We had a really nice stay. The room was spacious, the TV channels were easy to find, and we could mirror our phones to watch whatever we wanted. It’s pet friendly, which not many hotels accommodate. Breakfast was clean, good, and well prepared; staff were helpful when we asked. The pool was great, with pretty warm water, and the kids loved it. We did find a bug that looked like a centipede in the room and got rid of it. Otherwise, it was a good stay. I’d like the rooms to have a nicer fragrance. Hospitality and service were great.

The floor I was assigned to had finished renovations and looked attractive, but the service was still lacking. I know some inconvenience comes with renovation work, but at check-in they had their usual container of snacks and drinks for Gold and Diamond members and didn’t offer me any. I also wasn’t greeted as a Diamond member, which is standard policy. Later I found there was no hair dryer in my room. The front desk said they had no spare, so I had to do without.
