York Harbor Inn

The service stood out during our first stay at York Harbor Inn for a "midweek weekend." Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful, from the people I spoke with by phone to the desk and restaurant staff. My husband, our friend, and I kept commenting on it to each other. We’ll definitely return and recommend the inn. It was a special couple of days. On the day of our reservation, we got an email saying pipes had burst in the building we were booked in. The inn has four buildings, I think, and they offered us other rooms, upgrading us to a lovely one. The location is excellent, across the street from the ocean. Our room had old-fashioned, heavy wooden furnishings that made it feel warm and homey. The beds were superior, and the shower pressure was strong. We also loved the comfortable shared living room with its fireplace. Breakfast was included in the room cost and was top shelf: homemade coffee cake, apple cake, blueberry muffins, and pancakes one morning. We ate at both the restaurant and pub in the main building. The servings were generous, from the enormous bean and goat cheese salad to the ample mussels appetizer. My seafood ravioli was delicious, my husband loved the mussels, and the crab cakes were full of crab meat rather than filler. Our servers were relaxed, helpful, and friendly, which made dining even more enjoyable.

We’ve been back to YHI many times to celebrate after holding our wedding reception here 25 years ago. It’s such a warm, charming, romantic spot, with great hospitality and fabulous dining. We love the location and the range of accommodations. This time we stayed in the main Inn, which is especially charming. The staff are friendly and quick to help with requests. Love this place and can’t wait to return.

The staff were wonderful, from the front desk to the breakfast attendants, and communication was excellent. I could text questions and got quick replies. We booked just one night, the evening before we arrived, and were pleasantly surprised when they upgraded our room. It was clean and comfortable, with a fireplace and lovely ocean view. Our quick winter getaway was just what we needed, and I highly recommend staying here.

Everyone was extremely friendly and accommodating, from housekeeping to the servers in the cellar/main dinning room. The York harbor inn made our elopement stay perfect. We couldn’t be happier and can’t wait to spend future vacations there.
