Yorkshire Motel

The beds were comfortable, the pillows nice, and the service fantastic. The location was handy too, close to a gas station, several places to eat, and less than half a mile from the freeway. I skipped the complimentary breakfast. I’d have given five stars easily if there hadn’t been someone else’s hair on the toilet seat and on the counter by the sink. There were also a few holes in the wall where the door handle hits, though that bothered me less. Aside from the hair, I had no complaints.

Breakfast is pretty basic, just packaged honey buns, small muffins and little cereal boxes. Our ground-floor room was very clean, though dated, which didn’t matter much since we were mainly there to sleep. The person who checked me in was friendly. Before we left for the day after showering, I asked the front desk to replace our two bath towels, two washcloths and bath mat, and to empty the trash. The woman said housekeeping wouldn’t enter during our two-night stay, but she’d arrange those items and the trash. We got back around midnight and nothing had been replaced or emptied. Very disappointing.

The lobby had a somewhat musty, dank smell, which was my only real gripe. The rooms were clean, and I’d recommend the place for its cheap rates and good value. There are plenty of food options nearby, plus a Walmart, and it’s about a mile off the highway. Just keep in mind it’s not a five-star property.

The water pressure and temperature were spot on, though the toilet and shower room in #201 was a bit cramped. I stayed one night, arriving late and leaving early. It’s an older motel, but seemed well maintained and was clean overall. I’m not a fan of carpet. Thank you Yorkshire Motel!!
