Honey Bear Cabin worked really well for us in Wawona. After a long hike, it was nice to have a proper kitchen for making dinner instead of driving somewhere. It's spacious and comfortable, with a well-equipped modern kitchen and bathroom, plus a washer and dryer. The living room is large, and the deck has a screened porch room that would be nice for summer meals. The Mariposa Sequoia Grove is nearby. Highly recommend it.

We had a great time staying at “Chateau Royal West” with the family years ago, and everyone loved the evenings there. I'd definitely recommend staying in Yosemite West.

The cabin we stayed in, Yosemite Alpine Aerie, was hosted by Issac Ace. It turned what should have been a relaxing Yosemite trip into a stressful ordeal, and I can't recommend it. We had repeated power cuts, including one that lasted from 11:30 pm until 10:00 am overnight. Neighbors said outages happen often and that they all have backup generators. The host knows about the issue, but there was no generator or other plan. More than $300 worth of food spoiled because the refrigerator wouldn't stay cold. The cabin was completely dark, the emergency lights didn't work, and the lanterns had dead batteries. A carbon monoxide alarm also beeped randomly through the night and kept us awake. During outages there was no cell service or Wi-Fi, and the host ignored several messages, so we had no way to get help. Other things were in poor shape too: the stove burners were unreliable and the biggest one was broken; the ice maker didn't work and there was just one tiny ice tray; there was no colander for pasta; and the kettle was rusty inside. The electric blinds were useless without power, leaving the cabin either like a cave or a fishbowl. The game room wasn't much use either, with one cracked ping pong ball and a foosball table with squeaky, broken handles. There was no Kleenex, and the basement bathroom had no toilet paper holder. The toilet seat was undersized and uncomfortable, clearly not meant for adults. With outages, spoiled food, broken amenities, sleepless nights, and a host who disappeared when we needed help, this place wasn't guest-ready or safe, and wasn't worth the price.

We arrived on August 31, 2025 to find an unannounced power outage at the property. There was no hot water for showers, and because of the remote location all our food spoiled. That's a basic service failure. Since the incident, Scenic Wonders has ignored all four of our formal emails, starting 9/21/25, as well as a formal complaint filed with the BBB. There's been no accountability or customer service. We are seeking a $430 refund for one night plus compensation, and the matter is unresolved. Don't book if you expect basic amenities or a professional response when something goes wrong.

We liked being close to the valley and having somewhere to return to, but the cost didn't match the problems. I tried contacting the manager before posting and heard nothing for a week. We booked Tree Haven through VRBO in August, and didn't get the details until the day before our stay. I'm asking for a partial refund because some listed facilities weren't usable or weren't up to vacation-rental standards. Internet access was one of my VRBO search filters because my husband planned to work from the rental on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. The listing mentioned internet without saying it was limited or capped. When we couldn't get online in the cabin, the book said to drive to the rental office. My husband and son followed the map to the marked location, but it was another rental and nobody from the business was there. Maintenance workers told him to check the vacation manual. My husband had to take the day off and arrange coverage. The location on the map wasn't labeled correctly, either, when he tried to find the rental center to download things. There were other issues: the toaster oven didn't work, the dishwasher was broken and my husband tried to fix it, and one living room lamp was broken while another didn't work at all. Wi-Fi couldn't be used because of the limit. The dishes weren't clean, there were cobwebs in the kitchen, and the patio by the dining room smelled moldy. The washer had a sign saying "do not use" with "do not" taken off, so we couldn't tell if it was okay to use. Bathroom tiles were chipped, the upstairs sink drainer wouldn't open, and the bathtub faucet dripped even though we hadn't used it. A zip tie was holding up the dining room chandelier, a furnace vent was cracked open, and upstairs bedroom plugs wouldn't hold anything, so we couldn't charge devices or use bedside lamps. The sponge and cleaning rag were old and moldy. The VRBO description was inaccurate, and I'm requesting a partial refund because we couldn't use everything advertised. The company link should be on the first line of the description so renters can see its actual website. The listing should also say "multi-level": someone in our party used a cane and could manage stairs, but with difficulty. I included a link to photos of the problem areas.
