The breakfast buffet had plenty to choose from when it was part of the room rate: usually waffles you make yourself, eggs, vegetable frittata, bacon or sausage, biscuits and gravy, potatoes, oatmeal or cream of wheat, yogurt, bread, and muffins. The orange juice was good, and the coffee was great, including the decaf. Draft beer at happy hour was $5, compared with the usual $7.50. I appreciated having a nightstand on each side of the king bed. My wife usually gets one, while I end up using the floor, though I could have used an outlet by my table for charging my phone. The room and bathroom were clean and nice, and the interior hallway door matters to me. The carpet showed some age or could use cleaning, but it was still acceptable. The location is handy, just off Interstate 8 and 16th Street, next to Yuma Palms shopping center and its Target. There are lots of restaurants nearby, and the hotel is under four miles from the airport. Staff were helpful, the shuttle responded quickly on the two occasions I needed a ride, and complimentary USA Today copies were available at the desk. There are indoor and outdoor pools, two hot tubs, and a fitness room that worked for me. If I remember right, it had three treadmills, two steppers, a recumbent bike, one weight machine, and some dumbbells. The outdoor pool is a decent size, though traffic noise from Interstate 8 can be distracting. Train tracks are nearby, but I didn’t hear excessive horn blasts. Light sleepers might want earplugs. I’d stay again if the rate were favorable. You can find cheaper hotels around Yuma, but some don’t include breakfast or have a poor selection. A hot breakfast for two at a restaurant would be hard to find for under $25-$30 or more unless you choose fast food, so that’s worth factoring into the price. One small suggestion: when the toilets are replaced, comfort height models with slow-close seats and lids would be nice, although the extra height might be tricky for young kids.

Radisson seems like good value for a mid-range Yuma hotel, with a comfortable stay and useful amenities without prices getting absurd, depending on the season. Guests often praise the clean rooms, comfortable beds, decent bathrooms, and working AC, which matters in Yuma summers. It also has indoor and outdoor pools, two hot tubs, a 24-hour gym, free WiFi and parking, plus an airport shuttle. There’s a complimentary breakfast buffet and a full-service bar and restaurant on site. Many guests also describe the staff as friendly and helpful.

We came back for the food, which was tasty and deserves five stars. Service could’ve been better on this Friday before Valentine’s Day. It wasn’t a full restaurant, but there were only three servers and no bartender. Hopefully the service improves.

The area around the hotel was beautiful and peaceful. It’s quite close to Yuma Airport, and a shuttle is available on request. Breakfast comes with the room rate, and the staff were very pleasant and helpful.

After staying here for years during holiday trips to see family and friends, I won’t be coming back. The people we saw or spoke with seemed miserable, and getting help was difficult. At check-in around 8:30 pm, we were told the bar and restaurant were open. The restaurant looked closed, there was nobody around, and the bar stools had been pushed into a corner. We had to wait for someone to come out before we could get a drink. Breakfast was another mess. The next morning nobody greeted us, so we got coffee and water ourselves and left them on a table while we went to get plates. When we returned, both drinks had been cleared away, along with the cards we showed for breakfast. We tried again the following morning and kept an eye on everything at the table, which worked. But after getting home, we found we’d been charged for what was supposed to be a free breakfast. They also need to make the large rigs parked out front shut down or move somewhere else. This place has lost me.
