Ramada by Wyndham Yuma

The room was clean and nice, but the pillows were too fat to rest my head on. Breakfast was free, though the choices were pretty poor: they cook two eggs, and there are waffles and oatmeal. Danielle at the front desk was wonderful with the guests ahead of me and told them she’d worked late and was there for anything they needed. I’m a light sleeper and have preferences about room location. She turned down every room I asked for, each for a different reason. For my first choice she said it was a handicapped room they kept for guests who needed it, but those people weren’t there. I went outside to look at the layout and nearly left. Danielle had gone for the day by the time I returned, so I asked the next woman about the same rooms. She said they were all available and asked which one I wanted. You decide.

The price was a really good value, and the hotel was clean. The front desk team were great, and the service was friendly and helpful. I wouldn’t recommend the Indian restaurant Curries, though. The food wasn’t good.

The pool was beautiful and the staff were friendly. My room was only partly clean. The floors needed vacuuming or mopping, and the vents needed dusting. My feet were filthy after walking from the bathroom to the bed. I brought my own wet mop, and the photo shows what it picked up. I travel with a pet who doesn’t like cats. About half a dozen cats hang around the dumpsters beside the pet station and roam the property, which distracted my dog every time we went outside.

I was in town getting my car repaired, and the Ramada was close to the dealership. The front desk service was outstanding, and the staff were excellent. I arrived midmorning and was surprised I could still get the free breakfast, with freshly made eggs and waffles. My room was clean and felt fresh, and the stay was pleasant.
