Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Baton Rouge North

They let us check in a little early, which we really appreciated. The room was clean, the AC was cold, the water was hot, and the free breakfast was decent. It's close to the airport, with easy access to downtown and LSU. There's a restaurant next door, and downtown Zachary is nearby with Walmart, McDonalds, CVS, and other places. We'll definitely stay here again when we're back in BR.

I'm a Diamond Elite member with IHG and stay in hotels often for work. This was one of the worst. I stayed here about two years ago when construction had left the place in disarray, and somehow it's like this again. The roof may need replacing, but they can control the lack of toilet paper, broken coffee maker, faulty shower valve, no hot water, and dirty rooms. The hotel needs a lot of care and cleaning. At $125 a night, it's not worth it, worse than a Motel 6. I'd like a refund for the money I wasted.

March 24, 2025. I saw the hotel's response to my review. Anyone reading this should know I have 63,000,000 views and posts. There is no way this hotel has been remodeled. The kitchen crew was good, but the parking lot is too small, and the smell in the building is horrific. The floors were so bad our shoes stuck from the entrance all the way to the elevator. It smelled like water damage and mold had been covered up, and our sinuses were awful. The towels were white but small and worn. The bathroom floor was so dirty we had to leave and buy cleaning supplies. Black debris clung to the toilet bowl, the shower curtain was worn, and a towel and paper had been wedged under the refrigerator to stop a leak. As an elite member of Holiday Inn Express & Suites, this was the worst hotel we've ever stayed at. Whoever did the remodel should be sued. I’m 1000% sure there’s water damage in the building. This is so sad. The place should be torn down and rebuilt.

I was there as a Red Cross volunteer, and the staff were super sweet. They helped me find something to eat, and the price was for the Red Cross nonprofit. When another volunteer had an issue with her room, they moved her quickly. We also needed a few things printed, and they were happy to help.
