A snow squall made me pull over for the night. It cost $94, which stung, especially since Super 8 is usually my go-to on long drives and this was far above the normal price. The lot was well lit. The room was dingy, and I could see damage, though the beds seemed clean. I snapped a picture of the blanket, which may explain why I guessed it's a non-smoking place. It seems mostly quiet so far. The staff were kind and offered me a coffee pot to take to my room. They asked if I wanted a room safe; I didn't know that was a thing, and it made me nervous about sleeping safely. I'd already paid, so I guess we'll see. It seems okay for a quick stopover.

The shower felt great after a few days on the road, and having a McDonald's right next door was really convenient. The rooms are small, though, and the walls are paper thin. Watch out for the picture frames against the bedside. Still, it's a great spot, and I'd recommend it to everyone.

I'm visiting my kids and grandkids, and in my 63 years I've spent plenty of time in hotels. The Super 8 at 2240 W. Pike in Zanesville Ohio has been the most courteous, helpful, and informative one I've ever stayed in. The team went above and beyond to help me. You hardly get that kind of service anymore, and it honestly brings tears to my eyes thinking about how warm and compassionate they were and how they understood my situation. Manager Christy, front desk clerks Amber and Kendra, and the housemaids were all wonderful. Please commend them, and don't split this team up. They deserve raises and awards for their outstanding customer service. If I ever stop back in Gainesville Ohio, this will be my number one stop. I don't care about Holiday Inn, red roof Inn, or any of the others. Nothing compares to the Super 8 and its staff. I had to say that, and I want to thank you.

The rooms are quiet and clean, and the front desk staff are amazing and helpful. Pets are welcome, and the area feels safe, with sheriffs regularly patrolling. There's truck parking and food right nearby, and the hotel is right off the interstate. There's no elevator, but they do have an ADA room on the lower level.

The woman at the front desk was very pleasant and welcoming. The room, though, smelled musty and felt stuffy. We were on the second floor and left the window open overnight, thankfully it opened. The floors were a little dirty, and the hallway carpets were nasty. The bathroom was dirty, with hair all over a previous guest's towel hanging on the door. The beds were sloppy, and the blanket was paper thin. They and the room had a dog and urine smell. Gross. Breakfast was a basic continental spread, just mid. For the rate we paid, it wasn't worth it, and I wouldn't recommend this place.
