The young woman at the desk was really sweet when we arrived, and the lobby was cute, like the online pictures. We came for our son’s graduation after our first choice was booked, and the photos were what sold us on this hotel. The room looked nice at first, with made beds and clean towels, but then we noticed the carpet looked dingy and the tops of all the dressers were very dusty. The bathroom door had only about half an inch of clearance from the toilet seat, and once I moved out of the way and closed it, I saw the bottom of the door was molded or crumbling away. The balcony door wouldn’t shut, so we wedged a chair against it at night. Room service wasn’t daily. You could request a light cleanup and towels, but a room cleaning was only available after three nights. The last night was worst. From about 5 p.m. until early morning, people were screaming outside our door and running up and down the halls like a stampede. I’m a very light sleeper and heard everything. You can also hear people using the bathroom and showering, as if the pipes were right next to the bed. It wasn’t a good experience, and I’ll never book here again.

The room was clean, but run-down, with paint peeling from the ceiling. We’d booked for a few days, then had to change plans at the last minute because a family member’s medical condition was getting worse. They refused to refund the remaining three nights. With the cancer hospital down the street, you’d think they might have a more flexible policy. We took some suitcases to the car, came back after five minutes to collect the rest of our things, and our key had already been deactivated, even though it wasn’t checkout day. Housekeeping was very kind.

I’m not sure where to start, but the room was my main complaint. It was dirty, and I took pictures. The windows were smudged, the lamps, outlets, and TV remote weren’t even working, and the office chair was so badly worn it needs replacing. There was too much dust, too. I’m really disappointed, since this place was recommended and was convenient to the hospital. Management needs to inspect the rooms and make sure they’re being looked after. I don’t think I’ll stay here again. About management’s response: I have pictures of the windows and chair and would be happy to provide them. There’s no way the room was properly inspected. I also noticed they left an envelope for a tip. Really?

I stayed here for Valentine’s Day, and the receptionist was so helpful and kind. I think her name was Rose. I watched her handle a long line of guests all by herself, and it struck me that she didn’t seem to have anywhere to sit. I used to work in a hotel, so I know how exhausting it is to stand all day while handling all that work, especially alone. Poor thing was limping by the end of her shift. Management, please do better.

The lobby was beautiful when I arrived late Sunday night, and check-in was quick. I needed a cheap place to wait out the snow on my way home from a business trip, and booked a night because the reviews looked good. It’s a boutique-like inn, with friendly, welcoming staff. My room was clean and pretty, and I liked that the floor had no carpet, which feels much cleaner than most hotels. Breakfast was a pretty standard buffet with a waffle maker, but the seating area and decor were gorgeous. It felt like a much pricier hotel. The parking lot is my only real complaint: it’s very small, so finding a spot might be hard on busy days. It also hadn’t been plowed by checkout, and I had to dig my car out, though I managed. I’d definitely stay again. It was a lovely experience.
