Costa Colonia - Riverside Boutique Hotel

The WiFi was my one complaint. It’s unreliable and cuts out now and then, so you’ll want mobile data if you need a solid connection. Everything else made for a very happy stay. The staff were great and let me use the business center after checkout to get some work done. I also really enjoyed the restaurant, jacuzzi and sauna. The hotel sits right by the river, with a lovely route along it for walking or running.

A glass shattered in our room, scattering pieces all over the floor. When I went to reception for help, they handed me a broom and left it at that. The glass broke into a million pieces, so sweeping it up was impossible. We had to be extremely careful not to cut ourselves. The staff were seriously unhelpful and unprofessional, and seemed not to care.

The bed was comfortable and the room spacious, but the noise coming from the restaurant was extreme. Why put a guest room there? Breakfast was mediocre, and I wouldn’t stay again.

The rooms are exceptionally spacious, almost like studios, and even have a microwave for heating food. The building is tastefully done and very well maintained. For the price, quality and facilities, this may be the best hotel in Colonia. The pool is okay, and being close to the Bay gives it some extra charm. You can also use the sauna, but need to tell reception 15 minutes ahead. Two annoyances: the floor gets extremely slippery when you leave the pool, and pool towels are only available at reception, all the way across the hotel.
