Laguna Garzon Lodge

With just eight rooms, this place feels quite exclusive. Each room is its own floating cottage, linked to the others by bridges, and the views are magnificent. We spent two nights here, and the gentle movement of the rooms in the wind helped us sleep like babies. A unique, exceptional hotel.

The staff and owner were friendly and helpful, and the shabby-chic decor is really well done. The rooms float right on the lagoon, which makes this a very unique hotel. They have kayaks guests can use. Highly recommend!

We paid $120 a night, which is expensive, but the location and experience were great. The owner was very friendly and polite, and we had a nice chat about the hotel concept and what's happening in Uruquay. The bed and shower were great. Wifi and electricity were unreliable, though. During storms and rain, the power went out a few times. Breakfast was average, like hotel breakfasts everywhere. It seems every hotel in Uruquay has an agreement to serve the same thing 😂. I can highly recommend the place.

I don't have words for the experience. Just go! This is an extraordinary lodge in a remarkable setting, with extraordinary people running it. There's wildlife and plants, fishing, kitesurfing, windsurfing, kayaking without engines, ocean and lake swimming, clear skies and amazing storms, golden sand, mud you can sink into, and off-roading. La Balsa is just a stone's throw away. It's a five-star restaurant run by its owners. And watch your driving, you might run into Shakira, Ursula Corberó, Calvin Klein, or Leo Messi.
