Hotel California

Nice place and good location, but the price isn't good. Breakfast was OK.

I've stayed here twice, for several days each time, and would definitely come back. The location is excellent, with restaurants and shops within walking distance. On my recent stay I enjoyed being near the Carnival parade. Free parking is available for cars and motorcycles, but not large vehicles. The staff were all friendly, and breakfast was the usual hotel spread of local meats, cheese, toast, and pastries. As a full-time traveller, I think it's good value for the area. Just keep expectations realistic, since this isn't a five-star resort.

The breakfast staff were very pleasant and helpful. Wi-Fi had a decent signal around the hotel, though there wasn't enough bandwidth for all the people using it. Maintenance was poor. The shower head sprayed water everywhere, and the elevator stopped two or three inches above the floor. A knob broke off the first room's door, though they moved us to another room. The twin room was small for two people's luggage. There was a nice bedside lamp on the tiny table, but it wasn't plugged in because there was no outlet on that wall, so it just took up space. We had 'superior' rooms and spent the stay wondering how they differed from standard ones, because they didn't seem exceptional in any way.

Rest was impossible when a football team arrived and made a mess. The rooms were in poor condition and very small, and breakfast wasn't as good as they advertised.
