Regency Golf - Hotel Urbano

I was travelling solo and had a great stay. The front desk guys were amazing, always coming right over when I needed help. The location is fantastic, and Uruguayans are very nice, humble people. No complaints, highly recommended!

We had the family room, and it was simply GREAT. It was actually two separate, spacious, well-equipped rooms sharing an outside door, and the bed was comfortable. The hotel is convenient too, just a block from Punta Carretas Shopping Center. There’s a church on the corner if you want to go to mass.

The king-size bed was very comfortable, the blackout curtains worked well, and the room was mostly quiet after about 10:00 p.m. WiFi was good in my room. The tiny breakfast area downstairs got crowded, and people had to wait a long time for a table on two mornings. I stayed three nights in May 2024 on the sixth floor at Regency Golf Urbano. It was generally a positive stay, and I’d probably return, but I’d choose a higher floor for a better view of the Plata. The room had a lot of maintenance problems: large gaps in the laminate floor near the bathroom, a glass shower door that hit its stone base and wouldn’t close fully, and water temperature that fluctuated a lot. A loose catch on the double-glazed windows meant street noise could get in. The air-conditioning filter was filthy, with black mould on the outlet vent, and the vent didn’t swing. There were no door seals or soft-close mechanism, and the door catch was very loud. No slippers or robe were provided. The bathroom had no clothesline and very little room to hang washed clothes, and the sink had no stopper. The soap was generic liquid soap. There were no USB or international power outlets, no bottled or filtered water, and no dishcloth or dish liquid for the kitchenette.

Everyone, from reception through dinner, was focused on helping us enjoy our stay. We had a standard room with a very large, comfortable bed, a powerful shower, and loads of towels and pillows. Dogs are welcome. Highly recommended.
