We spent a week here and felt right at home. Eduardo's pension is comfortable and affordable, and it’s in a really handy spot, just two blocks from the tennis courts, the pro-football (soccer) stadium, and bus stops. Public transportation is very good.

The owners are really friendly and attentive, and the place feels cozy even though it’s cramped. The bedding is very poor quality, though, and the breakfast dishes are dirty. The breakfast itself isn’t very good either.

Carlita, her boyfriend, and Eduardo make this feel like home, and they’re great at giving directions. Parque Rodó is a block away, with the Malecón and the Río de la Plata two blocks away. There’s a supermarket nearby, and public transport to the city center is easy to find. The area feels very safe at any time. More than somewhere to sleep, it’s a place with wonderful people. Highly recommended.

The terrace is a must. The house is lovely, in a charming area with interesting visitors coming through. The owners are a wonderful couple, and the whole place feels like a home in Montevideo.
