I've been staying here for weeks. It's beautiful and comfortable, with such friendly people, and it's so affordable that it feels almost free for what you get. The owner, Vince, pays impeccable attention to guests' wants and needs. There is actual heat, and an actual washer and dryer on site! I'd give it ten stars, since the other places were too bad and deceitful to even include in this lovely review. Still, don't stay anywhere else unless YOUKIE HOUSE is full! OMG, Palta, Montevideo Viajero and Circus were disasters, all -0: freezing with no heat, bedbugs, dirt and really bad staff. Just total no's!

The owners from Germany and France were kind, attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant. The rooms were clean, and there's a nice upstairs terrace with a BBQ. The location is really good, by the park and close to a smaller, less crowded beach. I didn't cook while I was there, but the kitchen looked good. A great place for a short or long stay in Montevideo, absolutely recommended.

I really liked the atmosphere here. It's a small hostel with just 10 dorm beds, split between a six-bed and a four-bed dorm, plus private rooms. The rooms have AC, and the beds have curtains. Everything was very clean, and the owner was nice and helpful. He speaks German fluently, too. They only take cash, in pesos or USD.

We had a really good weekend. The interior was cozy and the rooftop was amazing. It was clean, and Selene welcomed us very warmly.

The facilities were extremely clean, and the price was reasonable. I had a wonderful stay in a private single room with stained glass and a floating bed.
