Hotel Papiros

I slept comfortably in the clean room, with its vintage furniture, and the staff were attentive and incredibly friendly. The location near the port was great, in a neighborhood with plenty of potential along Avenida Brasil, though it's a long way from the city center. Breakfast was adequate, but the coffee could use some improvement.

Breakfast was delicious and there was plenty of it. The hotel is lovely, set in a historic building, and the service was very friendly.

Giuliana was a sweetheart, and the staff gave us excellent service during our weekend stay. The rest of the place was spotless, but the room itself needs work: the showers were old, and the towels had a musty smell. The pool was the really awful part. It reeked, the water was completely stagnant, and there were mosquitoes and dead toads in it. The smell and mosquitoes hit you as soon as you get to the parking lot. Going out to the patio and seeing that filthy pool is disgusting. The owners need to deal with it, including to avoid a health and environmental inspection. Best regards!

We couldn't sleep! 😞 The only good thing was breakfast, but the rate was ridiculously expensive and it just wasn't worth it. It was the worst hotel of our trip. There was unbearable noise from cars and motorcycles revving right outside, plus people coming and going all night and slamming doors. 😞 The room windows won't even open because they're so dirty, and one of them even has a bird's nest. The smell from the river next door is awful.
