The vineyard walk was a real treat, especially with a map showing the grape varieties and the chance to taste grapes straight from the vines. We also loved cooling off in the sun-warmed pool on a hot summer day. We stayed one night on the Don Prospero package, and the welcome was personal from the start. Check-in was easy, and they greeted us with a glass of crisp white wine while showing us around and explaining the stay. Dinner was a generous three-course meal for two, served with a glass of premium wine. In the morning, breakfast was fresh and satisfying, followed by a winery tour with Joaquin. He explained the winemaking process clearly and with real enthusiasm, making it one of the best wine tours we’ve taken. At $198 USD, the package covered the night, dinner, breakfast, and tour, which felt like very good value for such a memorable stay. Pizzorno Winery was peaceful and beautiful, and we had a fantastic time. We’re grateful for the hospitality and would wholeheartedly recommend it to wine lovers looking for a relaxing getaway.

The lodge has just four rooms, and since we were there midweek in late February, my wife and I had the place to ourselves. The private, elegant feel and having the pool all to ourselves was magical. It was a perfect way to spend the last day of our 14-day Uruguay vacation, with Montevideo airport less than an hour away. Earlier that afternoon, Joaquin, the winery’s sommelier, and Fabrizio led a tasting and tour that was both fun and informative. We tried four excellent wines. Pizzorno Lodge & Wine, tucked among the vines, made a lovely spot for the final night of our trip. We highly recommend staying here.
