Crystal Tower Hotel

The room itself was spacious and had some nice comforts: a good bed, armchairs, a handy table and office chair, and a universal plug. The sheets were clean and the pillows comfortable. The foyer was nice, the front desk staff friendly, and the location was good. But the Wi-Fi was painfully slow and kept dropping. The toilet smelled of urine, and its seat had one screw missing while the other was barely holding on. There was also a yellow stain, probably dried urine. Water drained very slowly from the sink because the pipe was pinched in several places. I reported the issues to reception, leaving out the smell because I thought it might just have been missed, and was told they'd fix them. When we returned that evening, nothing had been done. The toilet seat and floor hadn't been cleaned either.

Breakfast was great, the rates were fair, and the staff were kind and welcoming. It's wheelchair friendly, though you may need some help getting in at the entrance.

The one downside is a smell from the pipeline. The dinner food is OK, nothing fancy, but the prices are reasonable for what you get. I've stayed a couple more times since my first visit, and the location is excellent. The staff have become friendlier as they've got to know me. At first, reception seemed distant and not very keen to help, though the next time they recognized me and were warmer. They could still smile a bit more. The hotel is nice, with spacious rooms, a modern and comfortable lobby, and a varied, very good breakfast. It isn't too expensive.

We didn't stay here, since we were on a six-week trip and used ABB, but I wanted to mention how helpful Horatio at the desk was. We were meeting our tour bus there, and when the pickup time seemed to be slipping, he called the company and let us know it was delayed by about 45 minutes. Our Spanish is pretty basic, so his impeccable English was a huge relief. He went well beyond what his job required. It looks like a very nice place for a shorter stay, and it's convenient to lots of things.
