Casa Shanti - La Barra

The owners were so warm, and we loved our stay at Casa Shanti at the end of February 2025. Great location, price, and quality. Definitely somewhere we’d come back to, highly recommend it.

Set in the woods, this house has a lovely garden and a big barbecue area by the table and pool. It’s a peaceful, family-friendly place, and the hosts are excellent, ready to help while giving you room and privacy. You can walk to La Barra’s commercial area and the bridge in just a short time.

Fati, the yoga teacher, was the best.

La Merced is in the heart of La Barra, in Punta del Este, in what Buddhist monks consider the area's main energy center. It offers a distinctive atmosphere and refined service at this charming inn, a place to reconnect with life, your best self, and your senses. For travelers looking for rest, comfort, and serenity in a new destination, it’s a place to relax away from home. Services include housekeeping, buffet breakfast, a swimming pool, Wi-Fi, laundry, transfers, beach service, a grill, and a clay oven. La Merced can host family gatherings, get-togethers with friends, business meetings, events, and weddings. They say they have what you need for an event and invite you to ask about special offers.
