Enjoy Punta del Este

Breakfast has lots of choices and is pretty good. I’ve stayed in both the renovated rooms and the old, classic ones, and I’d suggest choosing a newer room. The indoor pool could be warmer, especially in winter. Check-in is usually chaotic, with long lines.

The bathroom had mold, the carpet was torn, and the old air conditioning smelled. Cleanliness was poor too: there was hair behind the bidet that definitely wasn't ours. When we asked for this to be fixed, they offered another room category at an added cost. We paid over 6000$ for a week as a family of five, which already felt overpriced for the standard of the room. It was a really disappointing stay. I hate having to write this, but it's true.

The hotel sits in a beautiful spot by the lagoon, and the rooms are roomy with a rustic feel. Breakfast was decent, though the dining room felt large compared with the food selection. The faucet takes a while to start running, and the water pressure is mild.

We left without getting the room we had booked, and ended up looking for another hotel in January when almost everything was booked. We had reserved two rooms based on the listed amenities, but the Marina Room didn't have the promised harbor or pool view, or the sunset views. Instead, we looked out at the front building. The bathtub advertised as a relaxing feature wasn't usable because it was just a shower. At reception, the staff seemed willing to help, but said we had to wait for the manager. He refused to offer a solution or a clear answer, and nothing changed while we waited. The whole situation was stressful and uncomfortable. I attached copies of the reservations showing what had been offered, but not provided. The hotel didn't deliver what it promised or handle the complaint properly. I wouldn't recommend staying here.
