Planet Punta del Este Hostel

The service was terrible. When I asked one of the boys to replace the broken fan, he said I'd have to wait. I waited in the bedroom for a while, then realized he'd ignored my request and was updating his social media instead. It felt like their mother had left the boys to run the hostel. We booked three beds in a six-person bedroom, but had to pass through another room that could hold ten people to reach it. So we paid for a room for six but stayed in a space for sixteen. Absurd. We hadn't been told that we needed to rent a lock to use the lockers safely, and there weren't enough locks for the place. We had to leave our belongings in the car, which had to be parked on a separate street because there was no parking. The place was poorly sanitized. The bedroom carpet, walls, and bathroom were always dirty, and there was only one shower for all the guests. The bedroom was stuffy, with just one fan, and that fan was broken. We booked three nights but stayed only two because of the poor conditions. Of course, they didn't refund the third night. I don't want to return to Punta del Este if staying here is the alternative. I strongly do not recommend this hostel to anyone!

The staff were kind and gave me a map and a few tips. They also let me leave my car parked in front while they looked after it. It’s a basic hostel with a simple breakfast and a cheap price, but the location makes it easy to explore Punta del Este on foot.

The place looked appealing at first, but dealing with the older woman who worked there changed that quickly. She was moody and rude, and the way I was treated was horrible.

A pleasant, simple backpacker hostel. A bed in the six-person dorm was 465 u$ per person.
