We’d booked five days, but after getting out of the taxi we almost didn’t go in. We checked the rooms anyway, and the smell and general feel were bad. Once we opened the room door, we knew we were leaving. It was small and stinky, and there was stuff in the stairway that seemed like a fire hazard. No thanks. We’re fine now at another place.

The room was relatively clean, but it was small, poorly equipped, and not well maintained. We paid a lot for a balcony with an ocean view, yet there wasn’t even a table or chairs out there. The shower door hinges were broken, the shower window wouldn’t open, there was nowhere to hang towels, the fridge was noisy, and the curtains left part of the window uncovered, so sunlight came straight in. Parking costs extra, but it’s uncovered and has no gate. The emergency stairway was locked, and the halls and lift smelled strongly of sewage. Breakfast was embarrassing, with very little choice and every mug filthy. Standards are poor for the price, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

The location is great, right by the ocean and very central, and the place was relatively clean. But my single room was so tiny I could barely unpack, and the breakfast wasn’t good. The coffee and fruit were poor, and they wouldn’t make more eggs at 9:50 even though breakfast ended at 10. No iron in the room, long hairs on the bathroom towels, and only one of the rooftop doors opened, with the other side locked. Reception was nice enough, but didn’t go out of their way. I went in high season and don’t think it was worth the price.

The staff were very friendly, and the hotel is central and good value for the money. The rooms are fine, though quite small, and breakfast is standard. I’d be happy to come back.

The hotel is just 50 m from the Atlantic beach, and I found it an easy place for a relaxing summer holiday. My room on the second floor had a good spring mattress, quality linens, a big shower, safe, hairdryer, and a full-size fridge. The aircon was quiet, the windows kept out street noise, and the blackout curtains made the room completely dark. Wifi worked well everywhere, and laundry service is available. Everything was very clean. The spacious white lobby, with artworks, has a bar serving coffee, cocktails, wine, and tapas. There’s private parking behind the building, and reception is staffed around the clock. Everyone I met there was helpful and friendly. They arranged excursions, looked up addresses, called taxis, and answered all my questions. Call directly to arrange a good rate, and returning guests get a discount. Breakfast was excellent, with fresh kiwi or orange juice, lots of cut fruit, cereals, sausage, cheese, scrambled eggs, yogurt, toast, jams, cakes, and good coffee. There were different surprises each morning, and the attendant kept the buffet stocked even late in the morning. I was also pleasantly surprised to find a lightweight beach chair, umbrella, and towel provided free. I’d worried about coming to Punta without those while traveling around, but carrying them the 50 m to the beach was manageable. The beach is free, clean, and sandy. There are two rooftop terraces and a jacuzzi. I liked sitting there in the afternoon, looking toward the beach and finding some shade. It was windy during my stay, though I don’t know if it’s always like that. The harbor and the other beach are within walking distance, and the main street is a block and a half away. There are banks and ATMs nearby. I suggest banca della Nacion for cash withdrawals, as its fees are lowest. Restaurants range from upscale to self-service. If you’re coming from Argentina, you need a plug adapter. You can buy one for a Schuko plug cheaply on the main street, and the staff can tell you where. I could easily spend a relaxing summer vacation at the Seaview Boutique Hotel. See the two pictures I took from my room and the beach photos, including the beautiful full moon in February 2019. Enjoy your stay there ❤️
