Termas y Hotel Posada del Siglo XIX

The pools were the highlight, with several at different temperatures, and they’re great for kids. Breakfast was pretty good, though it gets crowded. The hotel is also easy to reach from town, where people had told us it was the best around. We came away unimpressed, though. It feels dated and wasn’t very clean: the shower needed attention, I found a cockroach in the bathroom, the outdoor bathrooms smelled like old urine, and some pool areas had green mold where tiles had come loose. The outdoor chairs were dirty, moldy, and worn out. Getting help could be difficult. Only one person at reception spoke a little English, so Spanish is best. They give you one key per room, and getting a second one wasn’t easy. If the first employee won’t provide one, ask the manager. At 11 p.m. there was just one security guard in the lobby, the place was dark, and the main entrance was closed. It wasn’t a terrible stay, but there’s a lot to improve, and this isn’t a five-star hotel.

I really enjoyed this place. The thermal pools and rooms were great, and the food and overall quality were excellent.

A lovely spot to unwind with family or a partner.
