That breakfast was probably the best I've had in a hostel, and the courtyard is lovely, with a traditional Kapchan. The hotel itself is grand inside and clean, and I can imagine the private rooms are nice. The front desk was helpful, though there was confusion about the tourist tax: at first they said it was $5 per night instead of $2, then they waived the extra charge. $3 isn't a big deal, but I prefer costs to be clear upfront. I stayed for two nights. It really feels more like a hotel, while the hostel rooms are in a converted garage area with low ceilings, no windows, and little ventilation. The bathroom is shared by many beds. That was the only downside. All in all, it was nice, and the breakfast takes it from a 7/10 to an 8/10.

The rooms were clean and cozy, with everything needed for a comfortable stay. You can tell the owners take care with the upkeep and notice the little details. We spent two nights here and came away with only warm memories. The hosts were friendly, polite, and responsive. They answered our questions about the city and gave us local recommendations. We'll definitely stay again on our next visit to Bukhara, and I strongly recommend it to everyone.

The staff were very friendly and helped with all our questions. They even offered to drive us to the train station, and let us leave our backpacks after checkout. The accommodation is central, about a 10-minute walk from the old town. We also got restaurant recommendations and had very good wifi. We stayed two nights at the Jumadaler, and the distinctive interior made an impression as soon as we walked in. It has a great design, almost like being in 1001 night. We were offered an upgrade for a reasonable price, so we moved to a double room with a private bathroom and air conditioning. The room we'd booked would have had a shared toilet and no AC. Our upgraded room was bright, with a large window, and thoughtfully decorated. Everything was very clean. There was a kettle with tea, big fluffy towels, and shampoo and soap in the bathroom. Breakfast was generous, with lots of fresh, tasty fruit, fried eggs and sausage, a kind of rice pudding, bread, and jam. On the second morning there were pancakes too. We felt very comfortable and highly recommend the Jumadaler.

A mini market is about a five-minute walk away, and the location is around 10 minutes on foot from the pediatrician zone. Part of the walk is completely dark after sunset. The airport transfer wording was confusing: “Airport transfer included, 1-way” means free pickup at train stations or free drop-off at the airport, not the other way around. I got an upgrade and early check-in included. The host was great, and one of the main hosts speaks English, though he's always reachable on WhatsApp if you need him. The rooms are big, the AC is great and you can control it yourself. Breakfast was local and unusual. Since I arrived early, I was offered breakfast on arrival for an extra $3. It's cash only. The bed was very hard and lumpy, but workable.
