The staff made a big difference, especially when I needed a bus ticket to Tashkent. The receptionist explained that the bus I was waiting for wouldn’t come to Bukhara and that I’d have to go to another city. He helped me get a direct bus instead, which saved me the trouble, especially since the booking site wouldn’t take foreign cards. Breakfast was delicious and served personally to each guest. My room and bathroom were excellent, the staff were incredibly friendly, and the location made it easy to walk to nearby attractions instead of taking taxis. I had an amazing stay, highly recommend it, and would definitely come back.

It’s in the city center, and walking toward the old city gives you plenty of interesting places to see. I really liked staying here. The facilities are good, the prices are affordable, and the staff are very friendly and polite.

Breakfast was simple: one egg, sausage, bread, two toasts, sliced apples and oranges, plus coffee or tea. The reception guys recommended places to walk and eat, and were friendly, responsive, and ready to help with anything. It’s a small, cozy place near the main attractions. We felt safe in the area even at night, and I felt very safe at Hotel Ulugbek. The staff were friendly and available for questions, and the clean, well-kept common areas and attention to detail made the stay comfortable and worry-free. Our room was spacious, modern, and very clean, with a mattress that was just right for a comfortable night’s sleep. It’s a great base for exploring the historic sites on foot, with local shops and markets nearby to take in the culture.

After a day of sightseeing, it was nice to relax with Netflix or YouTube on the TV. The room also had a fridge and everything else we needed. We stayed in a twin room at Hotel Ulugbek in Bukhara. It was spacious, modern, and spotless, and the mattress wasn’t too soft, so I slept very comfortably.

The only thing we liked that wasn’t part of the hotel was a nearby coffee shop with delicious milkshakes. We stayed for three nights, and had to move rooms after the first one was impossible to sleep in, like a hamam. The replacement room’s air conditioning worked properly and was better overall. In the first room, the air conditioner didn’t work and blew dust around in 38-40 degree heat. When we asked them to fix it, they said all rooms had air conditioning, installed a few weeks before. The kettle was broken too. The panoramic windows faced a noisy avenue, so it felt like sleeping outdoors. The synthetic linens came without a bedspread, and the towels were dirty and stale. Breakfast was just half a cucumber, a quarter of a tomato, two slices of bread, and one scrambled egg per person. We got apples only once in three days. There was no water in the rooms, only a cooler at reception. The day after we arrived, a large group of men came in and gathered in the dining room, singing morning songs and drinking alcohol. I don’t recommend staying here.
