We meant to go to the restaurant next door and landed here by mistake. The food itself wasn't bad, but they added a service charge of nearly 30% of the bill. Cream and a small stew were charged separately too, even though the menu showed them as part of the meal, and there was no notice about extra charges anywhere that we could see. When we decided to pay and leave, the waitress didn't return all our change. She first asked us to wait, then ten minutes later we saw her scrolling on her phone and ignoring the rest of the change. Not a pleasant experience. Better avoid it.

We accidentally went into this restaurant when we meant to visit the one next door. The plov was the worst we've had during two weeks in Uzbekistan: three tough pieces of meat and stale bread. Now we're just hoping we don't get food poisoning. We were overcharged as well, like others have mentioned. It was our worst experience in Uzbekistan, and I hope they close soon.

Breakfast came with the $10.2 per night twin room, which had its own toilet. The room was nice overall, though the carpet didn't look very clean. It's just beyond Khiva's walls, but still an easy walk from there.

We stayed two nights, and the location made it easy to walk to all the main sights in Khiva. The hostel was well maintained, with very clean, comfortable rooms. Our host was always smiling and very nice. Highly recommended.

The host was so kind and helpful, and even let us use the kitchen in his restaurant to cook. The rooms were clean and comfortable. One of our best stays in Uzbekistan.
