Marmar Hotel

The room was huge for the price, and the location made it easy to walk to the art gallery or take a short taxi ride to the train station. This is a newly opened hotel, and the staff were very welcoming and helpful, especially Fayzulla, who speaks good English. Breakfast is served at the Turkish restaurant next door, which is owned by the same people. It was filling and tasty, and the restaurant's food was great value too.

The Wi-Fi barely worked, coming on for about ten minutes every two hours, and staff mostly met our complaints with shrugs. They were somewhat friendly, though, and eventually moved us after we raised the awful smell in our first room. It turned out to be a big patch of watery mold on the ceiling. The replacement room on another floor didn't smell moldy, but it had unfinished walls, paint cans scattered around, and a strong mix of fresh paint and canalization smells. Staff were initially reluctant to change our room at all.

We had a lovely family vacation here. The rooms are large and cozy, and the breakfast was amazing. There's also a restaurant next door with tasty, filling dishes at affordable prices. The staff were great, and the prices were very good. I'd recommend it!

The beds were the letdown: hard as a rock, like they were made on cardboard. Breakfast was the biggest disappointment too, with only a small selection of day-old food and powdered coffee instead of fresh. On the plus side, the location is great, the staff are friendly, the rooms are clean, and the AC works well.
