Dilshoda Prime

Breakfast was a letdown: the hot food was cold even when I arrived at 7:25 a.m., five minutes before service started. The location was okay, with the market right next door for water and snacks, while Registan and most restaurants were 12-15 minutes away. I stayed three nights on my own in room 207 at the end of the hall. The Wi-Fi was good enough for work and FaceTime, the AC worked well, and the bed was comfortable. Staff quickly fixed an issue with the shower draining. There was good hot water and pressure, plus bar soap and shampoo. The towels were fine overall, though one small one had a stain.

Breakfast with fruit and vegetables was a real plus. The owners were welcoming and pleasant, and the hotel is in the old town, right beside one of Samarkand’s largest and best-known historical monuments. We had an excellent stay.

The owner’s warm hospitality made the stay comfortable. I liked the open layout around the courtyard, and the room facilities were clean and adequate. Breakfast was Uzbek home cooking, gently seasoned and made with fresh ingredients, and I enjoyed it thoroughly. My original hotel suddenly closed for construction, so I ended up at Dilshoda by chance. I was lucky, and would stay here again if I return to Samarkand.

The hotel is well placed for visiting the city, and if you’re driving, parking is easy on the nearby main road. Rooms are clean and spacious, though some things are worn or broken: one room had broken AC, and another a leaking bathroom heater. Breakfast was nice, but coffee costs extra. They offer laundry service, but one pair of my trousers shrank. Sometimes people who book late are put in a separate hotel. It’s clean, but lacks the character of the original, which wasn’t great.
