The room itself was a problem too: the lights switched on and off unpredictably, and the charging outlets were all over the place. Nobody was available to help with our luggage. Breakfast was another dispute. We'd booked a room with breakfast, but afterward the staff insisted it wasn't included and made us pay an extra $35. It wasn't worth the money; even three-star hotels serve better. Booking had already been frustrating. The website showed one price, but the amount charged was completely different. They also wanted to charge for an infant as if it were an adult, despite the stated hotel policy, so we had to book without listing the infant. From booking through checkout, the experience was horrible. I wouldn't recommend staying here when there are many better hotels in the city.

The neighborhood was a pleasant surprise: about 15 minutes by taxi from the center, with the ride costing around 30,000 UZS. Nearby there's a newly developed park area with music fountains, restaurants, photo spots, a water park, and canals. We stayed as a couple for a few days and found the staff consistently friendly and helpful. The breakfast had plenty of variety and was enjoyable. The hotel itself is new, modern, and comfortable, so we had a nice stay.

I spent three weeks here on a business trip, and the laundry service managed to lose my clothes. They turned up five days later in another hotel in the same complex. That caused a lot of stress and disruption. Dining was another mess. Servers would try to clear plates as soon as I put down my fork, even when I had barely started, which made me feel hurried out of the dining room. At times the starter, main, and dessert arrived together, so hot food sat alongside a melting starter and dessert I hadn't begun. The bar was also troubling: prices tied to particular cards were changed without telling customers first. That felt dishonest and unacceptable. The general service was amateurish and showed little consideration for guests, below even basic hospitality standards. Across the stay, there were too many errors and questionable practices. I can't recommend this place to anyone looking for decent quality, respect, or professionalism. Those three weeks were miserable.

This is one of the two Hilton Garden Inns in Samarkand's conference area. The Eternal City is very close by, and a water park is being built across the road.
