The worst hotel I've ever stayed in.

The host is rude.

The owner was very nice and seemed like a genuinely good person, and the neighbors were friendly too. The location was a bit inconvenient, though it was still within walking distance of Registan Square. With small children, that walk felt a little far, and we got lost at first because we had to head farther inland from the road cars could use. The area felt safe. Some spots were dark, but children were still playing outside at night. Our room was clean, but the shower had no partition or curtain. The towels weren't changed during our three days, and there was no soap, other amenities, or complimentary drinking water. Breakfast included salads, sweet jelly, non-alcoholic drinks, a different dessert each day, and a pot of tea. You could borrow a hair dryer from the host, and laundry cost $5 per wash. The guesthouse had a lock, so the host needed to be there when we left or came back. Once, he woke me while I was napping, then apologized profusely. I also felt a little bad about waking someone when we needed to catch a late-night train. For the price, it was worth it.
