Samarkand City Center Apartments

I gave breakfast another chance the next morning, but it was the same scene: dirty dishes covering every table, nowhere to sit, and an empty buffet. I had to get the chef and go to reception before anyone cleared a table. About ten minutes later there was a place for me, but no food had appeared, so I was left with eggs and tomatoes again. The day before, I’d found the dining room just as bad, though I assumed it might be a one-off and didn’t complain at reception. The buffet had nothing on it except empty plates, and the only things available to eat were boiled eggs and tomatoes. Keep that in mind if you stay here. You’ll probably have to find breakfast elsewhere, while still paying for the breakfast you never really get. A little bonus for management, I suppose.

The rooms were roomy and clean, and the showers had plenty of pressure and hot water. The air-conditioning was the best I’ve had, especially useful during the 40c+ heat when many other places struggled. For a very modern hotel, the price was good too. Reception staff were friendly and spoke English really well. The hotel sits on a quiet side road without much nearby, though shops are a short walk away. Yandex was cheap and easy to use for getting to the main sights.

We had a great time and thought the hotel was very good value for the money. The room was spotless, the facilities seemed new, and the staff were super helpful, so we didn’t run into any problems. Breakfast could use improvement in both amount and quality. The pool was also much smaller than the pictures suggest. You can have a nice drink there, but there isn’t really space to sunbathe.

The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the rooms had lovely finishes. Staff were kind and happy to help. A wonderful place to stay if you’re in Samarkand!
