I was there for the World Triathlon Cup Samarkand 2024 and came away with a positive impression. The staff were friendly and helpful, my room was clean and well cared for, and breakfast had a good range of choices for different tastes. The main drawback is the location: Ulug’bek Grand Hotel is far from the city center, so it may not suit anyone hoping to stay near Samarkand’s historic sights.

We’ve been to their restaurant twice. The service was great, the food really delicious, and the staff were polite. I loved that there was seating outside by the waterfalls as well as inside. I’d recommend it to everyone.

The breakfasts were good, and everything was clean and tidy. Finding the place can be tricky since it’s right beside the highway, and it’s easy to miss the turn.

We stopped here for a meal on the way to Tashkent. Eating in Samarkand city would have meant going back out afterward, and the traffic can make that take a long time. It’s also nice that you can see the hotel windows even from a bus that doesn’t go into the city. The main downside was the wait for food after ordering. If the restaurant staff took that timing into account and worked on serving meals faster, I think they could attract more customers.
