Amir Khan Hostel

The beds have curtains for at least a bit of privacy, plus a little lamp and electrical outlet each. It's a shared-room setup, so privacy is limited. The place is new and very clean, and the staff are nice. We had the best breakfast of our trip in Uzbekistan. For what I paid, I got much more than expected. It's away from the city center but close to the airport, with bus stops nearby.

The hostel was clean, which was a plus, but we left after one night even though we'd booked three. The beds were awful, with a mattress only about 5 cm thick, so we could feel the wood underneath. There was just one shower for 12 beds, no lockers for our things, and no real quiet-hours respect. Loud talking started at 6:30 while people were still asleep. It also didn't feel like a backpacker hostel, with mostly locals and children staying there, including a truck driver who snored heavily all night. We weren't told when breakfast was served. We arrived at 10:15, thinking it would run until at least 10:30, but the woman was already putting everything away. She saw us and didn't seem willing to help, so we got only two eggs. The location is 3.3 km from the nearest metro, though it works well if you need to stay near the airport.

The location works if you want to be near the airport, but you'll need to call a taxi to reach the center. I loved staying here. It was quiet, clean, and comfortable, and the staff were very helpful.

For a hostel, this is really good. It's clean and comfortable, and the breakfast is great.
