Breakfast was a real struggle, two mornings in a row. The next day they ran out of milk, so having a proper breakfast was impossible. The first morning, everything was cold and there was just one microwave, which meant a long wait to heat things. When I asked them to do something, the coffee machine started working, but it still took 44 minutes to get a coffee and a cookie. For espresso, they told me to make instant coffee and heat it in the microwave. Who’s running this hotel? Is anyone there?

The room Wi-Fi didn’t reach, so I had to go outside to make calls. Breakfast was poor too. Those were the only problems I ran into on my trip.

The staff, particularly on the morning shifts, were helpful and spoke English well. They helped with things like getting a SIM card and arranging taxis, and Uzbekistan is known for its hospitality. I’d likely put this hotel among my top choices if I came back to Tashkent. I was there for an IIHF-organized training course from July 31st to August 7th, 2023. The hotel was kept clean and tidy, and the rooms were reasonably spacious with decent amenities. I did have to switch rooms twice because of ventilation and a bathroom hose issue. The small pool was a nice place to unwind, and we had some memorable evenings there. The food was average to good, and the location itself wasn’t especially interesting. A walk of at least twenty minutes gets you to sightseeing and recreation spots, though Tashkent doesn’t have many tourist attractions.
