Mövenpick Tashkent Old City

From 7 to 10 May 2026, I stayed at Mövenpick Tashkent, a stylish new hotel whose spacious rooms look well equipped at first glance. The stay turned into one disappointment after another. The spa on level –1 wasn't ready for guests: cold pool water, construction dust in the showers, and no hot water at all. A facility in that condition shouldn't have been open or sold as part of a five-star service. If it's not ready, close it. The room issues started with several dead power outlets, followed soon after by a broken air conditioner. We moved rooms; the appliances worked there, but the glass shower doors were coated in construction dust, as though final cleaning hadn't happened. Housekeeping got it right on day two. On day three they only made the bed, with no fresh towels and no water replenished. That's not acceptable for this brand. We also had a late flight and asked reception to extend our checkout by a few hours. The staff member didn't even open the system or check the screen before saying the hotel was full and an extension wasn't possible. I stepped away, checked the booking website myself, and saw rooms available for that exact date. They lied to my face to avoid dealing with an existing guest who wasn't bringing in new revenue. I didn't expect this level of service from a premium international brand. The polished appearance hides an unfinished property, careless housekeeping, an unready spa, and front desk staff who refuse before checking. Mövenpick should answer for what's running under its name in Tashkent, because it feels like something else entirely.

The service was excellent, and the staff were genuinely warm and welcoming. The hotel is sleek and modern, right in the heart of the city. It's hard to beat the location, with just a 15 minute walk to the Islamic Culture Center and City Mall.

Bright, clean, spacious rooms and a very convenient spot right in the city center. It's a new and lovely hotel, with really polite, friendly staff. I'll definitely stay here again.
