The Moon Hotel Hotel

It’s a quiet hotel within a reasonable distance of central Tashkent. The room was good value, and the bed was comfortable. The AC worked well and was much needed. Asila was especially helpful, if I’ve spelled her name right. A few things need minor repairs: the bathroom light switch kept coming loose, the toilet seat was detached, and the toilet wasn’t fixed securely to the floor. The shower was okay, with pleasantly warm water.

There are restaurants and grocery stores nearby, and though the hotel’s a little out of the way for the main sights, using Yandex taxis worked out fine. Breakfast was great, and the price was good. The transfer from the train station was excellent too, in new SUVs with room for our family and luggage. Our first night, we were put in the room by the entrance. It got loud as late as 2 am, with guests talking as they passed and hanging around outside. I know that’s not the owner’s fault, but I asked them to put up a sign reminding guests to be quieter. I also asked to move upstairs, and they accommodated us, so things were good after that. The younger guy could improve his customer service, but Sanjar, the older gentleman, was great, always smiling and ready to help.

The employees were so sweet and helpful. It felt peaceful here, almost like being in my own home, and breakfast was tasty too.

The staff were very welcoming, and the hotel is near the airport and the city’s sights, less than an hour on foot. Breakfast was decent, served from 8-10 am. You’ll need to pay in cash when you check in. Also, the water gets cold at night, so take your shower in the morning if you want hot water.
