No TV in the room, and I loved that. The oceanside infinity pool was perfect, and the walk down the beach to the little bar with swings became a daily treat for watermelon daiquiris. Such a perfect hotel, with an incredible team and service. One of my favorite stays ever, and the place really captures that old Caribbean feel.

We spent afternoons between the pool and the shaded loungers by the beach, with palms and mint-green gingerbread cottages all around. It felt like a place to slow down and reconnect. Our favorite room was the upstairs queen with an ocean view and a small terrace over Admiralty Bay. Quiet mornings with tea and a breeze, then sunset drinks and conversation looking out over the water. At Bequia Plantation Hotel, even checking in felt like being welcomed into someone’s island home. We arrived with rum punch on the wraparound porch, then settled into the Great House among the West Indian heirloom furniture. Breakfast at the open-air pavilion was easygoing, and the staff greeted us by name. Glenford and the team were warm and attentive without hovering. We also enjoyed walking together along Belmont Walkway and the Princess Margaret Trail, and coming back for live music under the stars on select evenings. We’ve booked another stay already. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to return.

The room was made up beautifully every day, with discreet, timely housekeeping and a lovely turndown each evening. That added a calm, understated sense of luxury. The restaurant food was consistently very good, served with smiles even when the team was busy, and the bar staff were quick and friendly. We arrived exhausted and a bit overwhelmed, and the stay started with a few bumps. Management listened and responded with real care and professionalism. Chris and Janelle especially helped turn things around and made the rest of the visit feel personal and restorative. Bequia Plantation Hotel is in a wonderful spot near Admiralty Bay and local restaurants, walkable to town, with an easy, fun cab ride to other places. The setting is peaceful and beautiful, with sand just beyond the pool, lush tropical grounds, and charming plantation-style cottages. Everything felt well kept and quietly elegant, with modern comforts alongside an authentic historic character. By the time we left after four nights, we felt completely relaxed. The location, character, and people who want guests to leave happy make this a special place. We’d gladly recommend it and hope it gets the attention and business it deserves.

The beachfront was stunning, with turquoise water, plenty of chairs and huts, and free kayaking and snorkeling. Pool towels were available too, and the pool itself was lovely. We stayed in the main hotel building, not a cabana. The seaweed in front of the hotel was cleared periodically. We got a warm welcome and a drink when we arrived early. Our room wasn't ready until the usual 3 p.m. check-in, and early check-in would have cost extra, but the staff made the wait and arrival pleasant. There were lots of mosquitoes in the room at first. Staff brought insecticide spray promptly, which took care of it. The room was comfortable and had a mini-fridge, toiletries, and a safe. Breakfast was included, but in September's low season it was à la carte instead of buffet to reduce waste. We should have been told that beforehand. The choices were tasty, though they got a little repetitive, and vegetarian options were limited. Dinner was excellent, with attentive service and a good range from pizza to seafood and pasta. Everything we tried was delicious, especially the divine brownie made with St Vincent chocolate. Staff stayed courteous and accommodating even though the hotel was quiet. One thing to be aware of: stray cats and dogs came into the dining area. Staff tried to manage them, but that may bother anyone uncomfortable around animals.

The on-site restaurant was pricey for a limited menu, so we preferred the wider choice of places within walking distance in the town center. Getting there is easy, with a short, pleasant beach walk from the hotel to town and the ferry to the mainland. The grounds are lush and beautiful, and our ground-floor ocean-facing suite had a lovely view. The staff were always helpful and accommodating, and we appreciated being able to use the water sports equipment for free, including paddle boats. For US travelers, remember to bring a power converter, since St. Vincent uses a different electrical currency.
