I tried speaking Spanish at reception, but Jennifer didn’t seem interested in helping. Her manner felt unhelpful, and I felt she was arrogant. It also seemed like she was laughing with other guests about my Spanish, even though I speak six languages. I was especially disappointed when the gluten-free meal I requested because of my celiac disease arrived with gluten in it, so I couldn’t eat it. There are good points too. I booked two different rooms to get a broader sense of the place, and both were comfortable. Each has a minibar with snacks and drinks for purchase. The staff are polite overall, though not everyone speaks English. One gentleman is consistently kind and polite, and gives excellent service. The restaurant food is delicious. Breakfast has six choices, including a national arepas breakfast made with maize, which is gluten-free. I especially like the grilled ribs for lunch or dinner. Free airport transport runs hourly, including very early, such as 4:00 AM.
