Posada Buena Vista Inn

We were very disappointed with Buena Vista Inn Posada Boutique. Air traffic control problems came up unexpectedly and we missed our flight, so we contacted the hotel right away to ask to move our dates. The airline had offered us a flight the following day, but the hotel wouldn't change the reservation or refund us. We'd already paid the full amount upfront, although only a deposit was required. Since the hotel is so close to the airport, we expected more understanding and flexibility. We checked with local authorities, including Ley de Protección al Consumidor y el Usuario Art.56, ley General del Turismo, INDEPABIS and SUNDDE, and were told the hotel's actions weren't compliant with local laws. It added unnecessary stress to our trip. I wouldn't recommend it.

What spoiled an otherwise nice experience was being told at the end that the airport transfer, which we thought was a free five-minute ride, actually cost $40 and had to be paid in cash. There wasn't a card machine. That's more than a trip to Caracas in Ridery. The hotel lists the service on its website with general offerings like a wake-up call, but doesn't say that it costs $40. They need to explain the charge so guests can take a Ridery from the airport instead of paying almost the room price again for transport there and back. It felt like a tourist rip-off, and not professional at all.

Good value, and the airport ride is reasonably priced compared with what nearby hotels charge. The service was friendly too.

The staff were super helpful and awesome. Loved Buena Vista Inn, highly recommend it. We'll be back soon.
