We came by boat and didn’t stay at the hotel. The location is great, but the food was only acceptable, and both the food and service cost far too much for their quality. The service was like what you’d get at any ordinary Caribbean island restaurant. Drinks at the bar tasted watered down despite premium prices. It seems they may still be trying to recoup revenue lost to a hurricane nine years ago. From my perspective, the whole BVI has been terribly disappointing. I’ve visited many, many times in the past.

Leticia, Diana, and Syana were the best part of my four day stay. Leticia promptly and professionally arranged transportation to and from Spanish Town, plus a day trip, and answered my questions quickly. When ants got into the room from the patio, Diana brought bug spray right away. Syana checked in every day with a smile to see if I needed anything from housekeeping, and kept the room very clean. The room, on the top floor, felt outdated and disappointing. Daylight showed through gaps around the door and ceiling. The patio door was very hard to open and close, didn’t sit flush, and left openings for bees, ants, and a couple of large spiders. The windows had screens but no glass, and the warped bathroom window screens let in even more pests. The shower pressure was almost nonexistent, and hot water took about three to four minutes. There was a coffee maker that needed special pods, but the resort didn’t supply or sell them in the provisions store. Instead, they left instant coffee and sugar. The mini fridge and microwave were useful for keeping milk cold and heating water. Although Syana did an excellent job cleaning, the room still felt worn and dirty because of the lack of maintenance and updates from management. The pests were especially frustrating. It was listed as a “resort,” but felt more like a basic cabin with electricity and running water. For the price, it wasn’t good value. I ate at both restaurants. Most of the dining and bar staff were friendly and attentive, though Stanley, who managed the upstairs dining area, could have engaged better with customers. Friday night’s BBQ and entertainment was particularly uncomfortable. I was put at the bar even though I hadn’t asked for bar seating and wanted to eat, not drink. It was hard to get to my “reserved” stool through the crowd, people kept bumping me from behind, and I was the only one trying to have a meal at the bar. This was hardly a three star stay for me. People coming by boat, staying in villas, or traveling in groups of two or more may have a different, perhaps better, experience. As a solo traveler in a standard room, I found the place poorly maintained and significantly overpriced.

The staff at the marina and hotel were outstanding, and there was a nice wine selection. We’ve eaten at high end resorts and restaurants all over, but this place is by far the best. Dinner upstairs was one of the best restaurant meals in the Caribbean. Everything tasted super fresh, and the sauces with each dish were fantastic. I’d go out of my way to come back.

The rooms and location were amazing, and the staff and service were the best. We had a wonderful stay at Leverick Bay Hotel.

We stayed overnight in the mooring field, and it was fine even with a few squalls passing through. The staff were friendly, and the place has the things you need: food, ice, gas, and a little market. You can also have a rental car dropped off.
