Sunset Gardens Guesthouse

A great place to unwind and get some rest during your visit. The island views were amazing, and the customer service was great. Deb and Faye were very sweet and helpful with suggestions for places to visit and beaches to see. You'll probably meet a guy named Rick while you're there. He's awesome too.

The countryside and water views were lovely, and the place felt quiet and secluded. I was there with my husband for Valentine's Day, and the hotel surprised me with jewelry and a Happy Valentine's Day message. The owner was easy to reach by phone, and the service was good.

A stray cat was asleep on our bed when we came in. The maintenance guy said he knew it had been napping there while he cleaned and thought he had gotten it out before check-in. The place was filthy, with bugs across the counter, fridge, and floor. The bed was broken, and there was a huge dip in the uneven floor hidden under carpet. The maintenance guy had a thousand excuses for not doing his job. This was genuinely the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Don't trust the positive comments, they're lying to you!

We only had a rushed extra night after our departure flight had a mechanical problem, so we missed out on using the pool and other amenities, including the grill. The hillside setting has lovely bay views, breezes, and sunsets. Getting around requires transportation, though cabs can cost a small chest of treasure. The rooms were nice, with the bathroom separating the bedroom from the kitchen. The kitchen had a stove, microwave, coffee pot, full refrigerator/freezer, plates, bowls, silverware, utensils, and glasses. Hot water came quickly and the shower was a good size. There's a little balcony for two, good Wi-Fi, and smart TVs.
