At Home in the Tropics

We chose this place on a whim and were really glad we did. The location, rooms, and service were all as good as you could ask for. There's also a great bar and restaurant. Hotel 1829, their sister location nearby, gets great reviews too.

Coming back to At Home in the Tropics for the second time in four years felt like coming home to family. Jess and Mark are incredibly kind and easy to reach whenever you need something. The property is gorgeous and kept up well, with a renovated pool area and tropical trees and plants around the shaded sitting area. There’s a good mix of sun and shade, and coffee, tea, and water are always available for self service in the outdoor kitchen. It’s a lovely place to slow down and relax, even if you spend your whole stay there. Main Street, with lots of restaurants and bars, is a short walk away, and Jess and Mark have great local food suggestions.

The location made it easy to explore the city center, with attractions and restaurants all around, and we loved walking around the bay. The hills were just the right amount of exercise for us each day. We also had a different, delicious breakfast every morning by the pool, with a stunning view. Mark and Jess were warm and welcoming, and Lauren was sweet and attentive while helping them. Our room was beautifully prepared, very clean, and had everything we needed to feel at home. They also provide beach chairs, a blanket, and sunscreen. We wanted to experience island life instead of staying at a resort, and this quiet, romantic bed and breakfast was just right. We highly recommend it and hope to return.

The view was fantastic, and it was so helpful being able to walk to shops, restaurants, and tourist attractions. Jess, Mark, and Lauren were accommodating and helped us find fun things to do, good food, and ways to avoid the overcrowded beaches. We spent a week here for our honeymoon and loved the tasty breakfasts and being greeted by two furry friends. This was an unbelievable bed and breakfast, and we’ll definitely stay here again.
