We could easily have spent the whole week on Water Island. The view from the backyard is stunning, and Honeymoon Beach, the ferry dock, the island store, and Heidi's Hilltop bar and grill are all an easy walk away. We rented a golf cart from Rachel for a day to explore more of the island and also spent some time on St. Thomas. Bill was friendly and made sure we were comfortable.

Papaya Villa was spacious and private, with beautiful views and a very convenient spot near the ferry dock and honeymoon beach. We didn’t need a golf cart, and the place was very clean with pleasant staff. The sheets, towels, and furniture could use an upgrade, but I’d still happily stay again. We also went on a couple of day sails with Catamaran Quest from Water Island. The captain knew great snorkeling spots and beaches you can only reach by boat.

The BBQ sandwich was decent, but the sides weren’t great. Still, it’s pretty much the only place to get food or a drink on Water Island.

Water Island felt overrated to me. It seems mostly like a place for locals to get away from tourists.
