Pu Luong Jungle Lodge

This is a review of the restaurant, not the hotel. The hotel is on a road with no street lighting, so leaving the property after dark, around 6 pm, is difficult and feels somewhat unsafe. That often leaves guests dining at the hotel. We found the restaurant disappointing. The staff didn’t seem very hospitable or attentive. The food was okay, but forgettable and definitely overpriced, and the quality was inconsistent. We ordered ginger tea and got a full glass of a tasty drink the first time. When we ordered it again, the second glass was only half full. After that dinner, we ate outside the hotel for the rest of our stay.

My dad has lived in Vietnam for 9 years and has visited this place several times. He always enjoys it. I had a really pleasant stay too: it’s a great spot, everything was perfect, and the staff were very nice.

We enjoyed our stay a lot. On a sunny day, the views from both the rooms and the bathrooms were so pretty. The rooms were spacious, the beds comfortable, and the toilets very large. The hotel is up a hill with lots of steps and staircases, so getting luggage up can be hard, but the staff were accommodating and helped us carry it. The restaurant had a wide range of food, from Western snacks to hotpot and family-style dishes, so we didn’t get bored eating there for every meal. The breakfast buffet was delicious, especially the banana cake. The hotel also has a swimming pool and a walking path that connects to the rice paddy fields. They offer half-day and full-day hiking and motorbike tours. Most of the staff speak very little English, but the man at the check-in desk was fluent and very helpful.

The service was very poor. I tried several times to contact them to change my reservation, but nobody replied. In the end, they charged my card without providing any service at all. It feels like a scam. Update after the property's response: We clearly asked for a refund, even a partial one, from the beginning, and the resort ignored us again. We accidentally booked and contacted them to cancel within five minutes. We knew the booking was non-refundable, but sent the cancellation request immediately. The property ignored that and all our follow-up messages through the platform. They still charged the full amount (!!!) even though we never stayed, saying they hadn’t received the messages, despite receiving the payment without a problem. Future guests should know how this place handles customer communication. If the platform they use doesn’t pass messages along properly, they should consider using another one to avoid this happening again. They only started replying after we left a negative public comment on social media. They even said they could have refunded us if they’d known sooner, but we notified them right away. We’re still waiting for even a partial refund. In short, I strongly advise anyone thinking of staying here to be cautious. They took the money quickly and were completely unresponsive when we tried to sort this out.
