Puluong Ohayo

Breakfast was excellent, with a large buffet of local and Western options, juices and hot drinks, plus eggs made to order. Dinner cost more than we'd been used to in Vietnam, but the quality justified it. We especially liked the fried catfish and local fish cooked Thai style. Our wooden pod overlooking the rice paddies was very comfortable, with air conditioning, a kettle, a hairdryer, and plenty of hot water in the shower. If you're planning a motorbike trip, we managed to ride here from Vinh in one winter day without pushing too hard, even though it was dark by half six. The final quarter of the route was much nicer than the rest.

The staff were nice, and there are other resorts and restaurants nearby. The restaurant food was good, though not aiming for stars. We enjoyed the spa and massage, and there's a pool too. Rooms were clean, romantic, and very nice, with spectacular views of the rice fields and mountains. Hills are steep if you want to explore, but the nearby market is worth the effort. I'd stay 2-4 nights.

Pu Luong itself is beautiful, and staying at Puluong Valley Home made the trip perfect. We had a wonderful time thanks to the clean rooms, stunning views, good food, and lovely staff.
