Bac Ha Eco Homestay - Hostel

The view over the landscape is especially lovely early in the morning. It’s close to Bac Ha bus station and the market, so you can walk, though the road is narrow and the place can be hard to find. The room is small but cozy, and the staff are friendly, enthusiastic and speak excellent English. They should improve the wooden upstairs.

We loved the relaxed, family feel here. The three sisters who own the homestay are so friendly, approachable and always smiling. They speak English, though the language barrier can still be an issue. We stayed for a week and could walk to the bus station, park and lake, market, and palace. If we’d known about this place sooner, we wouldn’t have gone to Sa Pa, lol. There’s a picturesque view somewhere nearby, and you can rent a motorbike and ride to the waterfalls. I highly recommend it. Sorry, ladies, I forgot your names 😅

Zing and Hueng were cheerful and really helpful. Our cozy room was clean, quiet and relaxing, with a comfy bed and nice decor. We liked the view of town and the hills, and the market was close by. A great place for our two nights in Bac Ha.

BAC HA ECO HOMESTAY NO LONGER EXISTS. No one answers the phone either, so don't rely on the Guide Book or Lonely Planet. There's a new small lodge with private bungalows instead. Of course, the private rooms cost more, so it's not suitable for backpackers.
